Gemini Marine developed the X-Class as a new generation of professional RIBs. It retains the proven strength of the Waverider family while adding the Stepped Volume Hull, a drier ride and updated composite construction.
Sea trials in South Africa highlighted its composed behaviour in steep and confused water. The hull tracks cleanly through wave tops, remains settled in fast turns and softens hard landings that would otherwise fatigue crew and equipment.
Stepped Volume Hull
Effective volume in the forward sections increases as the bow enters a wave. Buoyancy therefore builds progressively, helping the RIB recover without an abrupt change of direction. Aggressive spray rails move water away from the hull and introduce air into the flow, further improving comfort.
Construction and service access
Key composite parts are vacuum-infused for a consistent laminate and an efficient strength-to-weight ratio. Large bonding surfaces unite hull and deck, distributing loads from high-output propulsion throughout the structure.
Generous cable runs and service routes keep systems accessible. Tubes use premium Orca Hypalon/CSM and can be specified as removable, allowing repair without transporting the entire boat.
Built around commercial use
Gemini Marine has supplied RIBs to rescue services and other demanding operators since 1983. That field experience shapes the X-Class: a seaworthy and maintainable platform intended for sustained professional operation.
