A winter trial in the North Sea gave The Ocean Cleanup an opportunity to test a smaller version of System 002, later named Jenny. The programme took place roughly twelve nautical miles off Noordwijk.
Novi Marine deployed the 11-metre Seapoint Cabin RIB and crew alongside the AHTS Maersk Handler and multicat Coastal Challenger. Their role covered launch and recovery support, testing and close observation of the system at sea.
The work contributed to the development of the offshore system. By the end of 2023, System 002 had removed almost 300 tonnes of plastic from the ocean.
